• We talked about when expat life sucks!

Our weekly Twitter chat occurs every Thursday afternoon 2pm (local Abu Dhabi time/GMT+4), and we use our hashtag #ExpatWoman to connect with users who are joining in. The purpose of our chats is to engage with our wider audiences across the world; and so far we've had ladies from here in Dubai, all the way to Vanuatu to the Philippines to Germany!

Saying that, we figure those who join in weekly have a pretty great idea about expatriate life in various places across the world. And we're probably right in saying that, like we expats living in Dubai, they too have had moments when they've wanted to scream at the first person who walks up to them. Yes, expat anger is a thing... That is a whole different topic in itself... But we talked about why it's a thing, what causes it to be a thing and the reasons that make us thing that being an expatriate SUCKS.

Yes, you read that correctly. Expatriate life isn't always glitter, rainbows and ponies with lots of money to swim in, a great career and air miles that can last 50 years in first class. That is nowhere near the case.

If you are one of those individuals, turn away now. Don't read this. We don't want to taint you.

Anyway, we decided that we'd sum up our weekly chats for you to read through on our blog. And where better to start than us all complaining about our lifestyles? Enjoy! And don't forget to join in our next chat..

Q1: How long have you been an expatriate?

Q2. What was the hardest thing about leaving "home" for you?

Q3. How do you self-soothe when living abroad?

Q4. Has there ever been a time when you've given up, or at least wanted to?

Q5. How do you find comfort in your expat country?

Q6. Do you have a support network in your expat country?

Q7. What's the biggest challenge you've faced living abroad?
